Study of flash phenomena of single crystal and polycrystal of strontium titanate
June 2021- June 2022

Research supervisors- Dr. Devinder Yadav (IIT Patna, India)

Dr. rer. nat. Leopoldo Molina-Luna (TU Darmstadt, Germany)

  • Research on flash sintering, a process that rapidly densifies a sample at lower furnace temperatures within seconds using an applied electric field. The project focused on studying the local defect structure and dynamics during flash experiments on SrTiO3 single crystals and polycrystals

  • Defect concentration study by XRD, evaluation of defect structures at different positions, and investigation of the role of point defects generated at the onset of flash sintering temperature were studied using aberration-corrected TEM
